The WR40-4TR is a remote control that facilitates switching the SK41D-4TR KVM switch's host source buttons remotely. This allows for installing the KVM switch in a different location than where the operator's keyboard, mouse (or trackball) and display console are situated. The remote control has LED indicators that show that the keyboard, mouse and display are connected to console ports on the KVM and that the KVM has received the display's EDID. The remote control is NIAP PP 4.0 certified and TEMPEST Level 1 compliant. It designed to be installed on a military vehicle, submarines and marine vessels, and airborne platforms.

The remote control supports remotely activating the four push buttons on the SK41D-4TR KVM switch.
An enclosure tampering attempt can be sensed by multiple embedded sensors within the switch. Battery powered anti-tampering circuitry prevents normal operation once a tampering attempt has been detected.
