The DVI-FM500 DVI over Fiber Extender is a simple, attractive and compact solution that lets you extend your DVI signal up to 5000 feet over fiber optics. Easily connect the DVI-5500 modules via two LC fiber optic cables and quickly correct video resolution synchronization without manual configuration via EDID programming.
Note: The distance that DVI can be extended will depend on the type of fiber optic cable used. For a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 at 60 frames per second (60 Hz), the distances possible are as follows:
Single mode: 9(8)/125 m core: 1500m (5,000 ft) Multi mode: 50(62.5)/125 m core: 500m (1,500 ft)
An external +5VDC power adapter is generally required for the receiver module. Most video cards can provide +5V DC power to the transmitter module but it also has provision for external power. Both power supplies are included.
Features:
Extends DVI up to 5,000 feet (1500 meters) using single-mode(8/125 m or 9/125 m) fiber cable
Extends DVI up to 1,500 feet (450 meters) using multi-mode (50 m or 62.5 m) fiber cable
Supports resolutions up to 1920 x 1200
Supports DDWG standard for DVI-compliant monitors
EDID Programming feature enables quick and correct sync of source to display
Fully supports DVI 1.0 and DDC2B via virtual DDC
Supports both singlemode and multimode fiber optic cable types
Fiber cable provides immunity from electromagnetic interference (EMI)
